Wonder of Life
We haven't yet seen
The extreme cruelties among men-
That's why we still live with hope,
Warm hope like the warm feathers
Of a mother-bird around her babies,
Hope that smells like
The first shower of rain
After long, hot, rainless days.
We live near the burned cities,
We live near the abandoned ports,
We live like a trembling mother-bird
Waiting in her storm-broken nest
To see the sun to rise.
Life is so wonderful,so lovely!
Love is like thin white bird
Looking for a little food to eat.
Our thoughts are like soft silk-cotton
Flying away with the seeds inside.
One day they might find land somewhere
And give birth to a green seedling.
